I just realized my last blog update waa weeks ago and so much has happened. I was hoping to make 1 post with every result but that is going to be too much and also the oncologist was out of town at a conference so I can't give you a complete blog on the Pet scan and and CT scan until I talk to her. I have read the report but I need to speak directly to he to clarify some things for us and then I will report that part.
First year anniversary of new heart was September 7th. That milestone comes with different changes in medication treatment.
As far as the heart goes...the heart cath and biopsy was a success. Heart function looks great and there are no signs of rejection!!!
-Kendall was taken of the medication tadalafil which she was on to help relax the the blood vessels in the lungs in order to make it easier for the heart to pump blood.
-she was added on aspirin as a blood thinner
-she was also added on a new medication called Everolimus. This medication is used to help prevent organ transplant rejection and to treat different types of cancers and tumors.
Kendall will have weekly blood draws at Mott starting on Wednesday Oct 1st to determine the doses of medications she should be on and it can change from week to week.
-Coming soon is a conversation with oncologist/hematologist regarding future plan and treatment. Also we will receive the plans for the spleen(which has grown in size since the last scan)
I am sure there are details I missed but right now this is all my brain can recollect. I will follow up with more information on Pet scan results after we speak with the doctor.
I may have to edit this post tomorrow after I re-read it. My brain is tired? Brain fog?? I can't take anything else in right now. Is that a real thing that other people have experienced?
The newsletter will be coming out soon and I hope you all have subscribed so that you can keep up with the latest news, motivation, wisdom, and conversations that will change and touch your hearts enough that you will share it with others
